COUNTY WIDE BURN BAN TO TAKE EFFECT SUNDAY

By Lieutenant Ken Wismer
April 21, 2012

The Northampton County Council issued a County Wide burn ban that will take place sunday and last for 30 days. After the 30 days it will be re-evaluated, With the lack of rain and snow this year the natural vegetation is very dry and wild fire can rapidly spread. This can cause major problems in and around residential areas as life and property can become endangered by wild fire's. We at Upper Nazareth Fire Department are asking every one to stand by the burn ban and please call in anyone not following it. It can cause great risk to the community if conditions are right. There will be no burn permits issued during the ban remember this is county wide not just Upper Nazareth Township.
