Regional Fire Training
On Monday night, firefighters from Forks Township, Upper Nazareth Fire Department, and Nazareth Fire Department gathered at the Forks Township Fire Training Facility, located at 3400 Glover Road in Easton, Pennsylvania, for joint training exercises.

About the Facility and Training

The Forks Township Fire Training Facility is one of the key regional sites used to sharpen firefighting skills. The center features a multi-story training tower, which allows firefighters to practice real-world scenarios in a safe and controlled environment. Exercises include raising and placing ground ladders, simulated fire attacks, and search-and rescue.

Departments came together at the site to enhance interoperability and practice joint Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) exercises, underscoring its importance.

This week’s Monday night session continued that tradition of collaboration. Firefighters from Forks Township, Upper Nazareth, and Nazareth worked side-by-side to review essential skills and support one another’s readiness. These multi-department drills not only keep individual members sharp but also ensure that crews can operate seamlessly together when responding to emergencies in the community.

Commitment to Training

All volunteer firefighters—from the surrounding companies—must complete state-mandated courses such as Firefighter-1 and Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations. Joint drills like Monday night’s help reinforce those requirements and keep teams prepared for the challenges they face in the field.
